I am looking for any information about George Richard Bailey Sr. - seems like I got stuck with my research. All I know is that he was married to Leonora Maccrone (*1932 - +2004). They had three children. I already found loads of info on Leonora Maccrone but I seem to find nothing about George Richard Bailey

With a wife/former wife born in 1932, it is completely possible he is still alive. I am busy working ancestry for mother in law's boyfriend, born in 1913, who is very much alive. Thus, you will have a harder time finding available records. This is fairly recent by genealogy standards.

If you know he IS dead, then I would expect to locate him in the ssdi (go to www.rootsweb.com, click on searches). I'm betting there will be several George Baileys, thus I will let you have the fun. You are more likely to spot "your" guy, by knowing the state where he died and maybe the year. From this point you can look for a death certificate, obit, etc, or see if you can pick him up in the 1930 census (assuming he is older than Leonora... that's not necessarily fact). The probability is that he will be in the same state.. at least that is where I'd look first, without info to the contrary.

Is he deceased? He isn't mentioned in Leonora's obituary which indicates that she was either divorced or widowed. I did find the following in the California death index

California Death Index, 1940-1997

about George R Bailey

Name: George R Bailey

Sex: MALE

Birthplace: California

Death Date: 19 Mar 1965

Death Place: Los Angeles

Mother's Maiden Name: Machuca

It is hard to say if this is him because there is no date of birth listed. If they did divorce, i would say that it would likely have been after the birth of their last child in the early sixties. California does have a divorce index that runs from 1966-1984, but there were no George Baileys who divorced from Leonora's-- but there is still a five year gap where a divorce could have occured.

If you let us know WHAT information you already have on him, it would help us help you more.
