Lugos in the passenger lists coming to the US came from Spain, Italy and several Spanish-speaking countries. To find where your great great grandparents came from, you will have to do the research.

Lugo

Galician and Spanish: habitational name from Lugo, a city in Galicia. This was a Roman settlement under the name of Lucus Augusti ‘grove or wood of Augustus’, but that may have been no more than an adaptation of an earlier name derived from that of the Celtic god Lugos.

The surname Rojas is from Spanish. It refers to people who came from places in Spain such as Burgos and Lugo, which are all in Galicia Province. The surname is itself a derivative ot the Spanish word "rojo", meaning "red". Their ancestors might have been red-haired people, as most people in Galicia have Celtic roots. There are people surnamed Rojas in every former Spanish colony in the world. Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Philippines, and Canary Islands all have people with this surname.
