I try the save feature to store images from Ancestry on my hard drive but can never find them. Even when I tell them to save to desktop they are just not there. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks.

Do you have Windows Vista? I had the same problem with Ancestry when I started using a new laptop with Vista. When I "save to computer" a box pops up that tells me "for security reason downloaded to temporary internet folder" Then I am asked if I want to open now or later. I always pick open now, then a box opens with a folder C and the address bar will have "Windows>Temporary Internet Files>Virtualized. Click on C folder then click on Users then click on your user name. Then click on documents and your images will be there. The final address bar will have "Windows>Temporary Internet Files>Virtualized>C>Users>Your user name>Documents"
I then click on the saved image or document, then right click and scroll down to "Open with" and I have a free digital image editing program, Irfan View, that I use, but Windows Photo Gallery is also available. After I tweak image I copy it to another folder. This also works to use the "send to" option of right click.
There might be better ways but this is what I found works for me.

Try making a folder on your desktop and naming it Ancestry images, then try saving to that, it will save you looking all over the desktop

i take advantage of a software pronounced as PhotoMix to make collages then I shop them as jpg records and shipment them to my notebook for a historic past. Works super and you'd be able to create a college any way you choose...they even have templates.
