I am a student at a community college and for one of our projects we have to interview someone who is working as the career that we eventually want to work as. Where can I find a cartographer to interview or something close?

Call the state headquarters of the American Automobile Association in your state. They produce maps by the hundreds (Rhode Island) or thousands (California.) They employ cartographers, either full-time or by contract. You will probably have to do your interview by phone.

Check in the geography section of Y!A under Science and Math. I think there's a few GIS based cartographic workers in there.
