I need to make a genogram for a class, and I cant do it by hand because I have such a big family and it would take way too long. Does anyone know a free and safe site online I can use? Im kind of hesitant to use a website because I don't want to get my information shared and so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great. Thanks

Download on of the free FH software onto yur own computer fill in and print out...if you put any information into an website, the information you put in then belongs to them to add to their collections which they then can use , sell or do whatever they want even if you delete it, they still have it...so no website is afe with regards to such private information.

There are several free ones on this page there is a link to one Brrothers Keeper http://familytimeline.webs.com/apps/links/

I wouldn't use Ancestry, you loose control of the material that you put on there.

I would use a program called legacy. You can down load a free version that will allow you to create &

print the pedigree chart you are talking about and not become part of the internet

The other thing that you should be aware of is the full name of living people is not included on a Genealogy chart, without specific written permission from that person it is part of the code of ethics that professional researcher use and you have no right to invade someones privacy without their knowledge so there is a lot of information on Ancestry, that violates the federal privacy laws because people include living people on there.

Anything you type on here or any other site can be accessed by any of the billions of online users worldwide. Which is why you should be very careful what info you share, especially those "social networks".

So, no safe site.

You said that you have a big family, so apparently you are confusing "family" with "genealogy". Genealogy is all about who were your ancestors: your parents, their parents, their parents back to Adam & Eve. Genealogy does NOT include siblings, aunts, uncles or cousins.

If it did, then in practical terms you would need to include every one alive and everyone who has ever lived.

So, whether family or genealogy, type it up in a word processing document.

many persons around right here do no longer shelter on line trees. We regularly propose transforming into a gedcom on your computing gadget employing unfastened get carry of genealogical utility and email it on your kinfolk. this form there's no capability for archives to get replaced, inner maximum preparation to be published on the internet, or to your tree to by danger be made public.
